Julie provided the keynote at our D&I Summit. She was provocative, inspiring and generous in her storytelling. Julie's words and advice resonated for many of us at Uniting and have been catalytic for our cultural diversity network and goals.

I had the pleasure of attending the Accents and Bias panel event hosted by the Asian Leadership Project in Sydney, and the experience was truly impressive.

The panel was meticulously curated, seamlessly weaving together diverse perspectives and insights. Each panellist brought authenticity to the forefront, sharing their experiences with a level of candour that was refreshing. What stood out even more was their remarkable generosity in imparting personal learnings and wisdom, creating a truly enriching atmosphere.

What impressed me further was the audience's level of engagement and curiosity. It's a rare occurrence to witness such active participation, especially in events of a similar format. This event successfully engaged everyone present, creating a noteworthy and memorable experience.

I highly recommend any future Asian Leadership Project event to Australian professionals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Beyond being a valuable learning experience, these events are a testament to Julie's commitment to fostering cultural intelligence. Having known Julie Chai for over 7 years now, I cannot speak highly enough of her and the Asian Leadership Project. Julie has created an organisation that is truly dedicated to changing society for the better and supporting cultural diversity across Corporate Australia. The Asian Leadership project is a transformative initiative that equips its corporate members with the tools, data and curriculum to navigate the complexities of diverse leadership in today’s global landscape. Personally, not only have I have exposed to incredibly diverse talent and leaders through various events and workshops, but I have been able to participate in a variety of mentorship, networking, thought leadership and speaking opportunities. In addition, I was fortunate enough to be selected for The Observership Program in 2021, a program that facilitates the involvement of young talent in a structured experience on non-profit and Government appointment boards. This was an incredible opportunity to learn more about not-for-profit boards and gain first-hand experience to the role of the board, its decision-making processes as well as being provided with training and mentorship. The Asian Leadership Project has an incredible strategic partnership with the Observership Program and I would not have been given this opportunity without Julie’s support and advocacy. Many project members have taken part in this program and without doubt has been the highlight of their careers thus far. Julie has created a collaborative environment and fostered a sense of community, enabling me to connect with like-minded individuals and organisations and cultivate lasting professional relationships. Julie and the project not only continue to educate and advocate for cultural diversity in leadership, but she is truly committed to creating a more interconnected and harmonious world and that is the power of the Asian Leadership Project
